CWA transitioned to an
innovative, complimentary DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP CARD system. All affiliated locals
were notified in the Fall of 2023 for seamless implementation.
The NEW Digital Card
Program also replaces the H-4 Interconnect card.
The following is how to
treat the temporary member:
1. The local issues the
new member a digital card link for the membership card and enters the person
into Aptify as an ACTIVE member.
2. If the member’s
employment is extended beyond the initial expected term, the local does nothing
to the Aptify record as the members status remains ACTIVE.
3. Once the member’s
employment ends as expected or after an extension, the local must update the
member’s status in Aptify to INACTIVE, thus voiding the digital membership card.
4. If the same member
returns to employment (After the local has made the record INACTIVE) the local
must update the Aptify record to ACTIVE and issue a NEW digital card link for
the member to activate for a valid membership card.
While digital cards are
the new standard:
1.
If an employer requires a physical card, the local may submit a request via email to [email protected], ensuring you specify the employer requires members to
present a physical membership card at the workplace, as well as the quantity of
blank card stock requested. Upon approval from the S/T Office, your local can
proceed to order cards from this page,
with the associated costs being waived and the invoice reflecting a zero
balance.
2.
If a physical card is not required by the employer and the local wishes to
have physical cards, the local may purchase the cards and pay for shipping.
To ensure a smooth
process, please be advised of the following:
1. Ordering of blank H-4 Interconnect CWA
membership card stock is restricted to authorized individuals only.
2. If a shipping method faster than USPS
Advantage Ground is requested, the additional cost will be invoiced to the
local.
3. Anticipate a processing and shipping timeframe
of 10-14 business days for order fulfillment.
